What OTR shows are you listening to now?
« on: April 17, 2013, 01:07:30 PM »
As time goes on a person can finish listening to one show and then start listening to another. Currently I'm listening to:

The Adventures of Maisie
The Adventures of Superman
Blue Beetle
The Green Hornet
Bold Venture
CBS Radio Mystery Theater
Five Minute Mysteries
Nightfall
and Baby Snooks.

I do a few episodes of each show at a time, so I don't have to listen to all the shows at once. I do this by putting a few of each show on my MP3 player as well as Jim's podcasts, and them play them while the player is on shuffle. That way I don't get burned out on one show so quickly. It may take longer to go through all the shows but it's better to do it that way than lose interest in a show.

Well, now back to my question. You know what I'm currently listening to and now I ask you - What are you listening to?

PS: I don't do Superman like I described above because it is serialized so when I get to those episodes I will do them in order, to keep the continuity.

Really good list. I've heard all the existing Superman and of the others, not ocunting Baby Snooks, I've heard most if not all. (CBSRMT I probably heard most of them when they first ran.)

Other than what Jim posts, I'm about two start two modern adaptations of HP Lovecraft stories, done as if they were period OTR dramas. I'm also very slowly listneing to Vic and Sade.

I don't do Superman
It took decades even to Lois Lane, don't get depressed.

;-P

Anyway, I finished listening to about twenty of Jim's Sci-fi shows, and then I went back to one of my very favorites:  Adventures by Morse. I've tried to ration the episodes as much as I could for years, but I've now gotten to the last episode  :(     So I am now listening again to my favorite arc, The City of the Dead.

That is a great one. Morse's serials are better than his standalone tales.

Miss Kitty's all-time favourite OTR is I Love a Mystery's "Temple of Vampires" .

Forgive me for sounding dense, but who is this "Miss Kitty" you referred to in your post? I'm new here and don't know who you're talking about.

About I Love a Mystery... I'll have to check out that series now that I've finished Baby Snooks. As soon as I finish one series I add a new series to my MP3 rotation.

Occasional member of the forum, Miss Kitty is one of the loveliest creatures on the planet who - by mistake or hypnosis - happens to be married to Peter, an odd individual who spells "favorite" with a u.  Life is strange.

;-P
I'm off to look for that episode now.

We listened to the existing episodes first, and a couple years later listened to all of the episodes including the recreations... they're not great, but they certainly do fill in some gaps!

I'm really tempted... maybe I will, after all.

Go ahead. My Shadow collection includes some recreations, as well as some Austrailian shows. They are usually worth listening to.
