New Gildersleeve book
« on: March 30, 2013, 02:23:49 PM »
Anybody seen this yet?  It seems really expensive and was just wondering if any of you had purchased it yet.

http://www.amazon.com/Tuning-The-Great-Gildersleeve-1941-1957/dp/0786473363/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1364674851&sr=8-4&keywords=Gildersleeve

One other item that you may notice on the page is the Gildersleeve movies.  They are now available from Warner brothers.  I must admit that I did purchase those!

It's a McFarland book. They are generally expensive but the quality is great. I own some of them. They have a great catalogue of books on all kinds of esoteric topics.

On the movies, I thought I was going to get those last year  so I passed on your offer for copies...probably should have taken you up on it so I could have enjoyed these classics sooner.  Either way, for anyone that hasn't seen them, the two DVD set is worth the $30.  It comes with four Gildersleeve movies along with a cameo appearance in the Lucille ball movie, Seven Days Leave.

Besides....who hasn't wanted to see Peavey with a gorilla!

I'm sure you've seen this by the same author:
Fibber McGee & Molly, On the Air 1935-1959 [Paperback]

Yes, I have that one.  It is a wonderful reference.

I haven't bought it yet and they've lowered the price $2.25!   ;D.  Just think of what I can do with the savings!

Good ol' amazon.
